Hygroscopic crystal components deteriorate when they are not normally stored in adequately dry air (or possibly a dry purge fuel). This applies e.g. to KDP and BBO, As well as in a lesser extent to LBO. It could be helpful to help keep such a crystal at a to some degree elevated temperature, which makes it simpler to continue to keep it dry.Kingwin
